Turning 100 with the Stampede
In April 1957, Krestine Pedersen (now Suchotzke) , arrived in Calgary having emigrated from Denmark to begin a life in Canada with her two young children. A couple of years later she was introduced to the Calgary Stampede and has since experienced almost every Parade (in the neighborhood of 40) and spent at least one day on the grounds of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth. This year she will celebrate her 100th birthday along with the Calgary Stampede. In 2011 our entire family ranging from age 1 to 98 watched the Stampede Parade from a second floor rooftop on 9th Avenue. As you can see Krestine likely had the best seat in the house. We look forward to having that pleasure repeated this year.
