Now a Heritage House

My favourite memories of the Calgary Stampede are from the 1950s and 1960s.

We lived near Drumheller and the whole family would drive to Calgary and stay for two days at my grandmother's house – which was only a short walk to Stampede Park.

The only picture I have of house is one of my daughter and me in 2008, standing at the back of the house. We were on our way to the Stampede that day, and the fellows that were living there at the time were nice enough to give us a tour.

Stepping into the house brought back memories of waking up to smells of fresh baked bread from a nearby bakery, and I was able to show my daughter a little bit of my heritage.

I am proud to say that house has now become the heritage house located at 619 13th Ave. S.E, and where it will stay for many years to come.
