Ernie McCulloch and the Golden Rockets

As an Alberta girl, my mother Doris Waters hailed from a musical family, to include her Aunt Ivy and Ivy’s son, Ernie McCulloch. This song was written by Aunt Ivy and recorded by Ernie and his band in the early 50’s.

Ernie’s tribute to the cowboys of the Calgary Stampede is a catchy, fun  and very reminiscent of  an earlier Alberta.

Growing up in Ontario  with western born parents, western music was our heritage and music of choice. By the age of 4, I had memorized all of the songs on this album.

Our entire family is now in the west, loves western music and the Calgary Stampede!
