Elizabeth Cannon’s My Stampede Story

Newly arrived from Prince Edward Island as a young engineering student at the University of Calgary, Elizabeth Cannon immediately fell in love with the Calgary Stampede and all it had to offer.

Her best memories; however, came years later as a young mother with small children, visiting the Agricultural Building and all the farm animals there.

"When you have small children, you really experience the Stampede in a whole different way. We loved going to see the animals. My husband grew up on the farm — but our kids are city kids. So this was a really great way for them to see, touch, and appreciate farm life.

"These were really special memories for us."
