Brent Sutter’s My Stampede Story

Sutter recalls his first Stampede through the eyes of the rodeo, thanks to his friend, steer wrestler Lee Laskosky.
"(Laskosky) won the $50,000 that year in steer wrestling. So it was great.

"Lee was raised in Viking, and he and his older brother and Brian and Darryl were best friends. They played hockey together and they chummed around together.

They were very good friends. Lee was a really good hockey player, but he chose to go the rodeo way. . . And he was one of the top 15 in the world. We came and watched him, and that was the first time I was at the Calgary Stampede."
